Hi,
We are just in process of Migrating to MS Exchange from Domino, But i have one concern which was raised by one of our SME, Thought would get some help from you guy’s
I Should Disable the Lotus Account and make sure that following four conditions are complied.
-
User cannot send and receive external emails
-
User cannot send and receive internal emails
-
User can access all my archived mails
-
User message goes out to all internal and external mail senders that my new email id is abc@xyz.com
Any help would be really great!!!
Subject: Disabling the users to send & receive mails
Why oh Why would you do such a thing in the first place???
Email:
Joking aside the server can have the mail tasks stopped but this will effect all on the server. The email address from the server can be remove - edited to remove mail file etc and just have a forwarder to exchange server (if different). Mail in and out should be going via the Exchange server unless you are looking at Smart host…
DB access:
If Note access is required all you need to do is keeo the person document but remove the mail information.
If it is via the web recreate the person document to only have username and password.
There is allot to ask here and as you should be reading this allot of ways to go. There is also allot of un answered questions.
If you are moving all at once then just remove all email configurations and turn off SMTP and the router etc. If you are doing the migration a bit at a time then you should be looking at running exchange and domino side by side.
I know this has not helped much but I hope you are think of what should be done.
