Hi all,
I’ve disabled return receipts on the server document (Configuration settings>>MIme>>Conversion Options>>General), this prevents sending out return receipts for all emails that come from addresses external to our domain. However, if a user from within the Domino directory sends an email to another user, the “switching off” of receipts doesn’t work.
Does any one have a workaround for this?

An easy way around this, is to just use the “Preview Pane”. If you only read the email here no return receipt will be sendt back to sender.

Are you sure about the preview pane? I am quite certain it will generate a reciept.

I’ve seen people mention this before but I still see the return receipts going through. The preview pane idea didn’t work. Someone mentioned that it works only if the User preferences has the “Mark documents read when opened in preview pane” unchecked. So’s mine and it still didn’t work.

Sorry my mistake, it did work before. That im sure off, but it seems that ND 6.5.3 has “fixed” this.

That absolutely does generate a receipt.
Forwarding the message or “reply with history” will keep them from going, though.

Yes I did. I just wanted to avoid making any design changes such as adding new agents. Is this the only option remaining?

If you select the document (don’t actually open it) and click on Forward, the document will be placed into a new memo so that you can read it but will not generate a receipt.
