I know there is a way to turn this feature off but I cannot find it. When you reply to an email it adds the recipients/senders to your personal address book. Where do we go to turn that off? I’ve done it before but I cannot find the area. Thanks

You are running into the Recent Contacts Feature. Please see my post to a past Forum inquiry.
I have included the link and my response below. Overall, you can simply go to your User Preferences–>Contacts and disable Recent Contacts
The Recent Contacts are a new feature to the 8.x Client Codestream. One thing to note is that you can turn this functionality off via File–>Preferences–>Contacts… (That is, assuming you are using the Standard Client). I have included Technote 1267115 below, which better outlines that information

There are a few things to Note regarding Recent Contacts.
- In Notes 8.0.0, there is no easy way to delete the Recent Contacts like you can in 8.0.1 and 8.0.2. If you would like to Reset the contents of the Recent Contacts view in Notes 8, you can follow Technote 1265985 below:

If you use DWA, note that Recent Contacts do not synchronize with your Contacts. Technote 1285959 outlines this information and states that Notes is working as Designed.

Lastly, if you would like to move an Address from your Recent Contacts into your Contacts view, you can follow Technote 1291542 below. This can be useful if you would like certain Contacts that are found in your Recent Contacts to synch up for use with DWA.

Subject: I knew it…
I thought this was the option to use but I swear it has changed. In 8.0.0 Standard there was a specific tick box saying “Do not auto add contacts to address book” or something along those lines and with 8.0.2 it might of been changed or I’m losing it, either way thank you for the response, it was excellent!

I just checked the Client on another machine and this button is not in the Contacts section. Would this be because the template is still 6.5 ? I’m using 8.0 open template and I can see this feature but this other machine is missing that entire section.

Recent Contacts feature is hidden from pre-8.0 clients. It is also hidden from the “Basic” Notes Client.
