Directory Link

Dear Lotus Community,

We have a mail folder on one drive, but this has now become fully utilised. We intend on apply mail file quota in the long run.

As a short term solution I would like to setup a second Mail folder as a directory link on a seperate drive. Although I have managed to create the directory to the second Mail directory - it only displays the contents of the original mail folder. I assume this is obvious that you can’t have 2 directories with the same name.

How can I overcome this since I don’t wan’t to change the mail file paths (eg mail2\xxxx.nsf) in both the PAB or the users location documents.

Any suggestions?

Regards,

Jemma

Subject: Pick a couple of your biggest mail files and create a database link for them.

i.e. Assume you moved “JUser.nsf” to e:\mail then in the original mail subdirectory, create a text file called “JUser.nsf” with 1 line: “e:\mail\JUser.nsf”

Can you move all the mailfiles to the new location? I would have thought that if you have created the directry link Ok then you would have ended uo with 2 folders called mail. I created a link recently and although the folder appeared there were no contents until I restarted domino - maybe too impatient - did do dbcache flush but that didn’t help
