I need to move 219 mail files to another logical drive on two servers using a directory link. Will there be any issues with mail routing and/or clustering with this approach?
Subject: Directory Link and Clustering
As long the directory link represents exactly the same pathname as without link, there is no difference for Domino. If the resulting pathname is different, you have to change all corresponding Mail-In database documents and Person documents.

okay. Lets say for example the current path of the mail files are d:\domino\data\mail\atl\users mail files.nsf are you saying the directory link should have the same path on the other volume e:\domino\data\mail\atl\users?
Subject: RE: Directory Link and Clustering
If you are going to move all files in the users subdirectory, the Directory Link file would be placed in the d:\domino\data\mail\atl directory and named as users.dir.
The text file users.dir would have then the content:
e:\domino\data\mail\atl\users

Each usesr one at a time or just the path to the users. Sorry it has been a very long time since I have dealt with directory links plus with this being clustered servers and mail files I want to make sure everything is correct ![]()
Subject: RE: Directory Link and Clustering
If you move ALL files under the “users” subdirectory on one server from the D: to E: drive, it makes no difference for the other (Domino Cluster) servers, as the pathname stays identical and also the replica ID of the databases.

Thanks Mika,I will do so.
