Dircat deleted records

Disaster struck…Please help. Sorry in advance if this is long winded.

history:

3 years ago 4 domino domains MCC/MSS/NHT/SHL all set up to extended domino address book so that they all aggregated into the MCC address book. 3 years ago I merged the MSS NAB and the MCC NAB to form a large 10000+ person NAB and removed the setting that aggregated the address books for the MSS domain. This caused a problem back then and removed all the MSS entries (I know it’s designed to do this) -no problem- I just copied all the enties back into MCC address book with no issues.

Yesterday we removed the setting for NHT (This is not a merge the domain was just to be deleted from the aggregation, removing around 200 records from the MCC address book), this time all the entries for NHT were removed and all the MSS entries as well, even person records that were renamed/recertified from MSS

to MCC (my own included).

I intend to recover from back-up our nab, we will lose a days worth of NAB changes, but I need to understand whats going on.

AArrrgggghhh…

Subject: Dircat deletions

Hi Mike,

Offhand, I’m not sure what’s going on. However, when you recover the EDC from the time before you removed anything, can you copy it to a new db (so it can’t replicate around). Then try setting LOG_DIRCAT=3, remove the same directory filename as you did before and tell the dircat to rebuild.

This should print out enough information to tell you what’s happening. You may want to contact IBM support and provide them the debug output.
