Difference between R6.5 and R6.5.1 clients

I’ve been experimenting with automated installations of Notes R6.5 clients.

This has been successful on Windows 2000 and Windows 95 machines, but this particular client consistently crashed (when exiting Notes) on Windows 95 machines.

I then (manually) upgraded one of these test machines to the 6.5.1 client. The crashes immediately ceased, but I was curious about an installation prompt I received:

Notes wanted to move the user ID (from the default location (of C:\Program Files\Lotus\Notes\Data) to “C:\Windows\Local Settings\Application Data\Lotus\Notes\Data”

Has Lotus (yet again) changed their directory structure with this version?

Subject: Difference between R6.5 and R6.5.1 clients

Sounds like you chose a multi-user installation. It then wants to put all the user’s data in to a directory under the user’s local directory on the machine.

It’s been so long since I created my response file, that I’m not sure where the install prompted for the install type.

Since I’ll probably install 5.6.1 directly, I’ll have to recreate my response file anyway.
