Since there appears collision algorithm to forge digital signature created by MD5 or SHA-1 hash function. Did Lotus Notes/Domino 7 improve encryption method to cope with this situation?

What it demonstrated is that there is a less-than-brute-force method to find two arbitrary plaintexts that collide. That is a far cry from finding a method to create an alternative plaintext for a given plaintext.
