Dialogbox rights

Hi,

I need to use a dialogbox to display effective rights of a selected person.

The name is selected in a combo.

When the user has only readers right on the starting document, he can’t select a name in the dialogbox.

I tried to make the dialogbox form public but the problem remains.

It loks like dialogbox use same rights that calling doc.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Subject: Dialogbox rights

check the dialogbox method parameters

flag = notesUIWorkspace.DialogBox( form$ , [autoHorzFit] , [autoVertFit] , [noCancel] , [noNewFields] , [noFieldUpdate] , [readOnly] , [title$] , [notesDocument] , [sizeToTable] , [noOkCancel] , [okCancelAtBottom] )

the one [notesDocument],

If you create a tempDoc and use that as the parameter, it should work…

Dim session as New NotesSession

Dim db as NotesDatabase

Dim Workspace as NotesUIWorkspace

Dim uidoc as NotesUIdocument

dim doc as NotesDoc

Dim tempDoc as NotesDocument

Set db = session.currentDatabase

Set uidoc = workspace.currentdocument

Set doc = uidoc.document

Set tempDoc = db.createDocument

dbx = workspace.DialogBox( “Your Dialogbox form”, true , true, false , false , false , false, “Title” , tempDoc , true )

when the dialobox is called it will use the tempdoc to feed the fields on dialogbox… This should work assuming the user has at least author access to the database.

Thanks for your response.

I tried your solution.

If I use a tempDoc, the user can select a name.

But, the dialogbox has to display effective access rights of the first document. So, dialogbox has to know this document.

If I use tempDoc, dialogbox only knows tempDoc.

how can I do dialogbox know the first doc?

Maybe you could use something similar to detect the access level of your users:
