Developer Training for Web Applications

Hi,

I’ve been an Application Developer for 4 years now working almost solely in the Lotus Notes client. We will soon be creating Lotus Domino applications for the web.

My question is, does anyone have any information and appropriate courses / good resources / advice for me ? My web skills are limited. I have knowledge of Lotus Script and am only the Web exam away from being CLP but that is like reading Japanese to me right now !

Any help would be much appreciated !

Thanks,

Ian

When you post a question to the forum, there’s a link to the forum FAQs. One of the FAQs is related to web design. WARNING - think ‘getting a drink from a firehose’…there are tons of references.

I’d recommend InterfaceMatters.Com and Escape Velocity (http://www.lotus911.com/nathan/escape.nsf) as starting points for good design ideas - check their blog-rolls because they point out to other great resources.

Steal - Sandbox and OpenNTF contain all kinds of interesting designs you can take apart and re-build.

Hi Ian,I feel you must start with some coding or converting you client applications as web . There are lots of good resources

You can look for Articles from Developer works .

Then there is a lotus notes magzine eView. Good thing about eview is it provides code. All you have to do is to study the code and then customize it.

There is also a FAQ for web in this forum.

here is the link

http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/nd6forum.nsf/Resources/ForumFAQs?OpenDocument

it contains a complete resourse list available free of cost .

( this FAQ needs to be updated as new topic on Ajax and JSON are released)

Now you can also see that there is web development wiki available on lotus notes home page.

Wiki contain advance topic such as Ajax and JSON.

Also if you want to more structured resourse you can refer lotus notes bible 6.

and tlcc course work.

Thanks

Sushant
