Develop apps for 7.0 using 8.02 Designer

I am a Lotus developer and would like to get to know the 8.02 Client and Designer, but we are only running 7.0.3x servers and clients. If I don’t use any new design elements or op codes that aren’t compatible with 7.03 servers or clients, can I safely use an 8.02 client and designer?

I’m working with the notes designer 8.0.2 since a few month on our 7.0.3 Notes Structure. New design using standard features are working without any problem. For my part, I don’t see any problem to use it… hope that help a bit
