Designer Training?

Hi all,

I need designer training for someone who has a decent amount of admin experience, but ZERO designer understanding.

Can anyone recommend a good starting point?

I received a ton of results from google, but you never know what you’re getting. Does anyone have first hand experience with those week long “crash courses” you can attend?

What’s a good starting point for someone with absolutely NO experience?

Many Thanks!

If you have anyone who can mentor the admin and the admin has anything at all on the ball, I’d start with internal resources and add in some books.

I can’t recommend any courses - it’s been a while since I took one. The ones I took were from IBM (actually Lotus as the time) certified centers and they were a huge help.

The VIEW seminars are great - and some of the sessions are not bad for noobs (@Functions and LS basics always a pleasure)

Best of luck.

Another couple of resources:

TLCC - online courses

Book: Lotus Notes and Domino 6 Programming Bible - by Rocky Oliver.

I had no experience in Notes and took some courses from TLCC. I’ve learned a lot and benefited so much from the courses. I would strongly suggest that you take some of their courses, however, I should warn you that these courses are kinda expensive.

Check out http://www.davalen.com for instructor led classes. You can even take these classes remotely via the virtual classroom

There are a lot of great references that can be provided.
