Designer toolbar problems

I’ve found several annoying toolbar problems in Designer, as follows:

Between sessions, it always forgets which toolbars were previously open. E.g. if I open Designer, right-click the toolbar and choose to display “Universal”, then close and reopen Designer, the Universal toolbar will not appear; Designer has reverted to the default toolbars.

Intermittently, switching windoes in Designer causes toolbars to close. E.g. if the Universal toolbar is open and I currently have focus on the Agents list, then I open a single agent, the Universal toolbar may close.

Various toolbar buttons are disabled (i.e. greyed out / unusable) in situations when they should be enabled. E.g. “Debug LotusScript” is always a valid function, and it is always usable in the Tools menu. However, if I have a “Debug LotusScript” toolbar icon in Designer, the icon is disabled when the focus is on the Designer homepage, or on any list of design elements, or an any of various panels. The only situation in which that icon appears usable (that I’ve found) is when the focus is on a single open design element. The same applies to several other icons, including “Document Properties”, “Database Properties”, and “Access Control List” (all of which I added to the Universal toolbar because I want them always visible).

Subject: Known issues

Hi,

These issues are fixed in internal build, or being worked on and should be fixed:

Already fixed

I haven’t been able to reproduce this. I’ll keep trying, but please update if you have a reproducible case

Being worked on. The basic issue is that Notes toolbars are only enabled in the different “classic” editors, e.g. Form design, View design, etc. Work is being done to enable them when focus is in the design list or navigator pane, although not others.

Vin

Subject: Still not fixed 40 months on…

So we’re three and a half years on, and this is still not fixed

The universal toolbar keeps being removed by Notes when in the design client. Why?
