Designer Help file - PLEASE can we have the old "Index" back?

Due to the fact that many of the classes and functions are duplicated in Notes and XPages, searching for help on a particualr thing has become an interesting challenge. The ‘old’ index is not available (the new one just doesn’t seem to work properly) so I can’t just type in the name of a LotusScript class or an @function (for example) and go straight to it.

If anyone has an easy way of getting to what you want QUICKLY then I would appreciate the tip!

Subject: two options.

The old help files are still there. You can find them in the data\help directory of your client (if you have designer installed).

The other option is to use the infocenter.

Subject: A third option is to use “Search Scope”…

  • This lets you “pre-filter” results, so if you’re only looking for LS referenece search, you can set a “Search Scope” that only searches LS references. It doesn’t change the fact that “help” in DDE is a travesty, but it does go a long way towards making search actually usable.

  • I have one for XPages Ref, one for All XPage Topics, and one for LS & Formula. It is an improvement.

Hope this helps…
