Designer Help database (NSF) missing content

I just performed a clean install of Notes 9 SE Designer. When opening the help database, I can’t find any entries for designer related items such as back end classes for LotusScript use. They were easily available in the Index view.

Are they somewhere else?

Subject: 8.5.1 Help NSF Download info

There is now a download link from the devWorks doc page that lets you download a copy of the old NSF if you still want one:

IBM Developer http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/lotus/documentation/dominodesigner/

There is now also an announcement on the AppDev wiki (as of 9.0 eGA) that tells users that they get a copy on devWorks if they no longer have the old NSF:

http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/ddwiki.nsf/dx/Domino_Designer_8.5.1_NSF_Help_file_now_available_for_customer_download http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/ddwiki.nsf/dx/Domino_Designer_8.5.1_NSF_Help_file_now_available_for_customer_download

The NSF in 9.0 is NOT the help system and an NSF has not served as the supported help system since pre-8.5. There is no problem with it missing content - it’s supposed to contain ONLY the F1 topics.

Folks who want to keep opening the NSF file as a help file may download a copy of the old NSF from the links above.

Subject: From Designer ID

Thanks for your comment.

The Designer Help NSF for 9.0 (and going forward)only contains info that is linked to F1 help links. This is NOT to be used as a help system - it is not supported or maintained as such. All of the content that was in the former NSF help is available in the BASIC USER GUIDE product help (an Eclipse plugin).

Click Help-Help Contents to access and use search to find things you cannot locate from the Table of Contents

I’m not sure about the NSF, but ND9 has improvements to the embedded help in the Designer client. Press F1.

The related help now tells you in the title if it is Java/XPages/LotusScript, etc. You can also filter the help to certain scopes to only get back what you are interested in.
