Designer Error?

When I try to open an existing file in designer I get this:

When I try to create one nothing happens?

I just opened the Java console and saw a lot of versions - I’ve unchecked (disabled all but the current):

I’m going to try now and I’ll post back.

Subject: this looks like a known error

if you just ignore it (and please restore the Java version for Designer to the one that comes with Notes), the first time you create a design element or refresh the db, the error should go away. It’s a timing thing we have since corrected.

Subject: java version with notes

What is the java version that comes with notes that I should restore?

thx

Subject: java

I did a repair on the nd85b2 install and still have the problem.

Is there some specific version of java that needs to be enabled:

Thanks

Subject: just a plain install should be all you need

so you can’t create a new db at all?

do the errors you see on an existing db go away if you create a new form?

Subject: no joy

I just did a full uninstall and reinstall and no joy.

I receive the errors whether it is a new database or opening an existing one.

AND to top that off the integrated Sametime which I normally have running in its own window reverts to a sidebar whenever I start Designer.

Thanks

Subject: what happens when you ignore the errors?

the issue I know about (the timing bug we have fixed post beta), the errors appear, but then will go away if you refresh or create another design element.

Subject: arg

I still have the error.

I then re-enabled java 5.0.11 and restarted notes and then started designer

no change

The errors are there still and i can’t see any of the design elements - the home page remains with create or open on it.

???

Subject: The uninstall leaves files back.

not sure if this is your issue, but I have done various Beta installs on the same machine and killing the leftovers I did not run into something like this.

Subject: files

when i installed beta2 i installed over beta 1.

i’ll try to find time to uninstall again and then clean out the notes and data directories of those things that are not perm (e.g. id file) and then reinstall. this may take a couple of days to find that window.

Subject: No Joy

Just tried with all but the current java disabled and still received the java errors on the new database :frowning:

The Integrated IM which was in a separate window was once again in a sidebar BUT the Open in New Window for the Integrated IM was now back and usable:

Subject: working (but integrated Sametime still a sidebar…)

Designer is now working. I did the following:

a) ran a tool to remove all but the current Java (from raproducts.org)

b) reset the windows perspective in designer

Now designer is working.

However the integrated Sametime is still reverting to a Sidebar application :frowning:
