Designer 6.5 - "Tools.."

I just noticed that “Add Tool” and “Customize Tools” do not work on my 6.5 Designer client (on Win 2000).No errors, just nothing happens.

I did a clean installation on XP machine - same thing.

Any clues?

The Tools feature interacts with special outlines that are stored in bookmark.nsf. Just a guess, but it’s possible your bookmark.nsf got corrupted and does not contain these outlines. Try updating the design of your bookmark.nsf, and/or deleting and recreating bookmark.nsf.

Thanks Vin, you guessed right.Deleting/recreating bookmark.nsf solves the issue.

Unfortunately, design refresh of bookmark.nsf fails,

and I’m not willing to re-create it (I have hundreds of bookmarks).

Not sure why Refresh failed, but you could also try Replace Design. Back up your bookmark.nsf first to be safe, and replace design from bookmark template. I believe that will preserve your bookmarks and pull in the latest from the template.
