Hi Folks.
(I have searched the forum, but didn’t find any issuesat all)
Last Night we have updated all our environment to Server 6.5.1 IF1 and Clients to 6.5.1 and installed/added german language pack.
Everything seems to work fine, apart from using Domino Designer. I want to make some design changes to the inbox folder (sort, show Address and so on).
Now here’s the problem. When I simply click on the column header, Designer seems to hang and it takes up to 5 minutes or more, before the properties are available and I can go on working. Now imagine, how often you do this and you understand, that I am stuck and cannot work - really.
What I have investigated/done so far:
A) It only appears on mail6.ntf. All other templates seem to behave normal.
B) It only happens, if I open the template on the server directly. If I open my local replica, it works fine.
C) I am about to try creating a new copy of the template, because I have made the experience, that some problems (that cannot be explained) dissapear this way.
D) yes. D) what else could I try? Any ideas?
Klaus

One step further with investigations…
I have made a fresh setup for this server starting with:
version 6.5 → everything is fine
updated to 6.5.1 → everything is fine
added language pack 6.5.1 german → problem occurs.
now - what could the language pack have done to the server…?
Any Idea?

I just did. Thank you very much.
What I have been reading in this topic somehow convice me to the idea of creating a new server somewhere on a seperate machine, choose replace option while setting up the language pack to create a “pur” german mail template and then use this to replace the desing for those user to pur german.
I am thinking of this, because it is very unlike, that one of my useres wants to change the mail file language all the time.
The only headache with this is the extraordinary effort to keep these german mail template updated when lotus comes around with new versions.
Any better Ideas?
