I changed an input validation formula @Failure message in a design template and did a Refresh Design on the database, but when input validation trips, the message is still the old text. I checked the form in the database, and the design was definitely refreshed from the template. How can it be showing language which is no longer there?
I closed Notes, deleted cache.ndk, and re-opened Notes. I also refreshed the design again, but it still brings up the old @Failure message.
This kind of thing has never happened to me before (in 8 yrs). Both the template and database are local. If design elements are stored in the local cache.ndk file and I deleted it but the problem remained, what am I missing?
LOL, thanks, yes, lately I have been suspecting the last possibility, rubbing my eyes and blinking, thinking I can’t be seeing what I’m seeing… but the replica in both the client and Designer is the same, the doc definitely has been closed and reopened (in fact, so has the database)… I will check for a stored form, but I seriously doubt it, unless that can somehow happen accidentally. I will check it on Monday and report back, as I am not in the office tomorrow.
Subject: SOLVED: Oversight re: Design elements caching “stuck”??
OK, I offer my humble apologies for wasting anyone’s time. I finally realized that it was not the @Failure message I was seeing, but the VALIDATE_REQUEST message in the InViewEdit code! I should have mentioned that I was editing documents from the view (failing to specify the context disqualifies the original post as crispy!), but I thought it was the input validation code running. I had forgotten to change the VALIDATE_REQUEST code when I changed the input validation message. Works fine now.
