Delivery failurer when mailing to a particular group

Problem delivering mails to an internal group, in the domino directory. The affected group contains 10 internal users.

Problem:

A user compose an e-mail in his mailbox.

In the sendto field, he writes the group “PERS”, or he chooses it from the adress button.

He presses F9, the groupname is unchanged.

He click the send button and sends the mail.

After a few seconds he recieves a delivery failurer saying “User Koncern PERS/xxx not listed in Domino Directory”.

And it is just not him, we all get the same failurer when sending to group “PERS”

We only have one group called “PERS”, with 10 usernames in it, all internal users.

We also do have a person with the name “KONCERN-PERS”, but this person is not in the “PERS” group document.

We do have a lot of groups like PERS, and a lot of user in the same nameformat:

Eksamples:

Groupname LEDS (only people)

Personname ISKF-LEDS

Groupname SEKU (only people)

Personname USGF-SEKU

All the groups and persons are in the same domain xxx.

Any suggestions why we get the delivery failurer on this particular group?

To avoid delivery problems like this, open the hidden view ($Users) in the Domino Directory (any that you use) and make sure that your group name is unique (no other entries in the view match the group name exactly). If a match exists, then change the group name to make it unique.

Also be careful of matching an entry in someone’s personal address book (much less common).
