I’ve created a rule in the mail file in which when the subject is delivery failure it will be moved to the ‘Failures’ folder. We have tested by sending an email from a user with a subject ‘Delivery Failure’ and it works fine. However if the sender is the ‘Mail Router’ this rule seems do not work because the message remains in the inbox. Does anyone know what is happening here.Thanks
Subject: Delivery Failure do not move to failure folder
The rule should trigger on the form, not the subject line:
When form contains NonDelivery move to folder Failures
Subject: RE: Delivery Failure do not move to failure folder
But the Form is not included in the options in the Rules. Is there any workaround?

Your original post is tagged “All Releases”. What version are you using?
I see the option to use the form in a client side rule here on version 7.0.2.
Subject: Workaround - Delivery Failure do not move to failure folder
Yes. Here’s a work around…
Bounce back messages sent directly from domino (not other mail servers) are not email messages. The lotus “form” type is not memo. Its a “NonDelivery…” form. This form does not have a From field so you can’t create rules for Non Delivery reports based on the “Sender” (or From field). So I created an agent that runs “before mail arrives” and tags the “Subject” field with a bit of text for non delivery reports. I have two mail rules. One that copied the message to a “bounce back” mail file followed by one that deletes the message.
FIELD FailureReason:= FailureReason;
FIELD Subject:= Subject;
@If(@IsAvailable(FailureReason);
@If(FailureReason != “”;
@Do(
@SetField(“Subject”; "bouncebacktag " +
Subject)
); “”); “”);
SELECT @All
Have a nice day, Markus.
