Deleting mail rules on client

Hi,

We have encountered a bug on the Notes 6.5 client using the mail rule. Even though the mail rule has been deleted so there are no mail rules, the client still shows there is a mail existing. This is not too bad, but the rule is still being applied to any incoming mail. Is there any way to get rid of this rule as it does not show up in the notes client view. Can anyone please advise? Thanks.
