I posted this before, but got no response. Here goes again:
Is it possible to delete all documents older than X days from a mail file, regardless of whether they have been accessed, modified, etc.? Archiving Policies are an obvious solution, but the criteria seems to insist that I only delete documents that have not been accessed or modified.

sure, just create your own agent. Use @Adjust to offset Today by x days then compare it to @Created to see if it’s older and if so then delete it. But keep this in mind, in a mail file there are other documents than just e-mails so you’ll want to be careful about what gets deleted by adding some selection criteria to the agent. And don’t forget about those drafts.

Thanks Paul,
I didn’t want to use an agent as I need to do this deletion every night on hundreds of mail files. I thought a Mail Archiving Policy would be a more managable way of doing this, but if an agent is the only way then that’s fine.
