Deleting documents on the web with document locking enabled

I have encountered a problem when I am deleting a document from a database on the web while document locking is enabled in the database. Here is the error that comes up:

HTTP Web Server: Lotus Notes Exception - Document locking is enabled. You must lock the document before deleting.

Does anyone have any ideas on a fix for this? Thank you for your help in advance.
