I’ve never done this before a few days ago, but since then DDE has consistently brought up deleted code when a new control with the same name as the deleted one is created. The only way I know to prevent this is to shut down DDE, losing all my editors, and relaunch it.

This wouldn’t matter if DDE did not force me to routinely erase and recreate XPages and custom controls because the untouchable automagic on them gets broken and is impossible to fix. It’s entirely possible the “broken automagic” and “resurrecting control” issues are identical… the entire mess is because some cache isn’t properly cleaned up. Sadly Lotus repeatedly ignores my pleas on how to ensure all DDE’s caches are deleted, just to see if that is in fact the issue.

Lotus needs to fix these defects. It’s unreasonable to expect the developer to have to delete and recreate design elements (with the exact same code!) just to make them work, and it’s equally unreasonable to force the developer to constantly shut down and relaunch DDE to make it function correctly.
Thanks for your time…
