Delete or recall spam from all Notes user mailboxes

Is it possible to select a spam message in a user’s IBM Notes mailbox which can be deleted or recalled from all user mailboxes?

The spam filters in my customer’s Domino environment does not detect every spam message at 100% accuracy, so obviously the users are receiving phishing and malware spam. This can lead to total network infection especially if one of those users has a high level Windows admin account.

I couldn’t find a feature natively in the the Domino Administrator client, and I was unsuccessful searching the IBM developerWorks Domino forums and wikis for a solution.

My customers are using various spam solutions as seen below, but I still need a way to “search & destroy” spam from all user mailboxes. :slight_smile:

  1. There are no posts on this forum which can remove spam from all Notes user mailboxes, hence, the reason for my post.

2 This should be a native feature of the Domino message system. However, it is just another reason to migrate to a new message system. I am trying to keep customers on Domino, not migrate away. Exchange requires the admin to use PowerShell, so we are ahead of the game offering an easy solution for a basic Domino admin or non-technical IT help desk user.

  1. Basic message recall was available since Exchange 98, but Domino didn’t implement until Release 8 in August 2007 which was disapointing to wait so long for such a basic feature.

These forums are, for obvious reasons, pretty low traffic. I think the people who are here all want Notes/Domino customers to get good information about things that would help them. That information is getting harder and harder to find. But we have seen you do this same thing time after time - pretending to be someone who has just found a fantastic tool, instead of admitting that you are the one who is selling it. Do you really think we’re not going to keep calling you out on this dishonesty every time you post? And do you think your potential customers aren’t going to see us call you out?

While I can’t speak for others here, let me tell you that if I were to run into you at an industry event the thing that I would remember about you is not the products you have but the dishonest way you represent yourself! Even if I really like your products, do you think I’m likely to recommend dealing with you to my clients?

And again, I can’t speak for others, but I would have no problem at all with an occasional post like this: "Hi friends. I’d like to tell you about the latest product/features that we’ve added to our offerings at NotesMail. I’ll keep this really brief… blah, blah, product/feature info, etc., etc. If you’re interested in learning more, contact us and be sure to mention that you saw this post on the Notes/Domino 6 and 7 forum.
