Delete impossible because of uidoc open

Hello,

My application uses 2 frames :

  • The bottom one with a view

  • The top one with the document selected in the view

I have a “delete” button in the view that execute a lotus script function that does ws.CurrentView.Documents.RemoveAll(True) among other things (lotus script is mandatory for the other things)

The problem is that I have an error message with the delete on uidoc because of the document displayed in the top frame !

Does anyone know how to display a blank page (which I can create) -in lotus script- in the top frame in order for the delete to be done ???

I’m sure your idea can be done, but it seems kind of desperate. Just an idea, but for the longest time, I’ve found this to be a good solution:

  1. On every form put a shared field called Delete. Leave its value blank or set it to no by default.

  2. Have every view disregard documents with the Delete field set to “Yes.”

  3. When the Delete field is set to “Yes”, it dissappears from the view.

  4. Have an agent that runs periodically (daily) that removes all documents with Delete set to “Yes.”

Subject: Soft deletions?

If you enable your database for “soft deletions”, maybe you won’t have the problem since the documents will not be actually removed from the database until later.
