Default email program - mailto:

We have an internet survey application (macromedia) using html (mailto:) and javascript within a send email button.

When internal users click on the button from I.E. it opens up a new memo within their Notes client with the recipient and subject fields completed, plus the survey results appear in the body of the message.

Problem:

Some users automated email lists their internet email address (name@company.com) in the from field where others list their internal Notes address (name/dept/company). Those with their internet email address also do not have the survey results stored in the body of the message.

Anyone know why the from field is listing differently from one user to the next and why the results text would not be stored in the body? Is this a setting within I.E. or the Notes client?

I’ve been trying to find differences between settings between users but have not found anything.

Thank you.

I would check the Location document settings for each Lotus Notes client. Check the “Format for messages addressed to internet addresses:” field on the mail tab and see if both have “MIME Format” listed. Also check to see the a value in the Internet Address field on the Basics tab is filled in for both.

If these two sections of the location documents are the same, look at the User Preferences in the Notes client, specifically the Mail/Internet/Sending Internet preferences. You may have a descrepancy between the clients that are functioning correctly and those that are not.
