Hello,
We have a third party tool that creates placeholders (short cuts) in users mail files that point to the actual documents located elsewhere. When these documents are opened, they are retrieved and placed in a third database temporarily. The problem is that every night, something causes all the shortcuts to be retrieved. Since they all get temporarily placed in this third database, this database is growing out of control in size even though it has nothing in it. I need to find out what is going on in the mail files that is causing all these shortcuts to be retrieved, every night. There is no agent in the mail file or anything. All I need to do is compact the db and it becomes real small again, but the customer wont accept that, I need to find out what action is going/running in the mail database at this certain time. Is there a tool that I can use to find out or anything I am missing?
To summarize:
Something is accessing all the docs in a mail file every night. I need to find out what that is and I don’t know how. I need a tool or something. There is nothing in the log about it. Can someone help me?
Thank you for your help,
Robert
