I’m hoping someone out there might be able to help clear up some confusion over DDM in 8.5 and forwarding events to TEC.
In the 8.5 Infocenter, this page (http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/domhelp/v8r0/topic/com.ibm.help.domino.admin85.doc/DOC/H_EVENT_NOTIFICATION_METHODS_OVER.html) says that “You can forward Domino Domain Monitoring (DDM) events raised by any DDM probe”.
However, this page (http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/domhelp/v8r0/topic/com.ibm.help.domino.admin85.doc/DOC/H_REPORTING_OPERATING_SYSTEM_PROBE_EVENTS_TO_TIVOLI_ENTERPRISE_CONSOLE_STEPS.html) just talks about forwarding events from OS Probes in DDM (no change from R7).
This page (http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/domhelp/v8r0/topic/com.ibm.help.domino.admin85.doc/DOC/H_FORWARDING_AN_EVENT_TO_THE_TIVOLI_ENTERPRISE_CONSOLE_STEPS.html) talks about using event handlers to forward events to TEC, but from what I can gather, it’s still not possible to have Domino raise an event from a DDM probe.
I guess what it all boils down to is this: I’d really like to be able to forward the results of any probe to TEC. Anyone know if that’s possible?

Any event can be forwarded to TEC via an Event Handler, per the third link you reference. This was introduced in Domino 8.0. The one caveat is that some install kits inadvertently excluded the DOMINOSRV.baroc file. Download DOMINOSRV.baroc now, if you like.

DDM OS probes were introduced in Domino 7.0, and can also forward events to TEC. That behavior continues to work in D8 and beyond.

…thanks for that - I think I was missing that file, which clears one thing up.
I’m still confused about one thing - is it possible to forward events raised by the other (non-OS) DDM probes to TEC? The first link in my post indicates that it is, but I can’t see how it would be configured.

There is no explicit way to designate the source probe. Use the existing Event Handler targeting criteria to zero in on what the DDM probe would generate.
