I recently updated to 8.5.1… It is much faster and stable than 8.5. But when I now try to open DCT, I always get the same error message. “Before you can use the Domino Configuration Tuneryou need to restart your Notes Client.”
Tried to clear the cache, restart LN, Reboot the laptop… Same error all the time…
Template versionis 10/07/2009.
I also tried to delete DCT and it’s NTF and get a new copy. Same error…
I’d like to have you reset your DCT environment, but before you do… Could you please zip your Quicktune directory and all subdirectories (found under Notes\Data) and email it to me? My email is sokeefe@us.ibm.com. I will use the provided files to diagnose your exact situation.
After you’ve done that, please delete the Quicktune directory and all subdirectories. You should close the Notes client before doing this, to ensure that no handles are open to the .jar files required. After deleting the directories, restart your Notes client and open your DCT.NSF based on the latest template. The DCT environment will be re-created for you.
Subject: C:\lotus\notes\jvm\lib\ext\DCT.jar date & size, too, please
Also please capture the DCT.jar date and size for Scott.
In addition to the Notes client, if there are any other N/D API applications running, you need to shut them down, too. Prior to restarting.
Depending on when in the life cycle of DCT you started using the tool, you sometimes need to shut everything down and restart twice. This is normal. But if you are told by DCT to restart more than twice for any single download, we’d like to know.
Subject: SOLUTION: remove notes\jvm\lib\ext\DCT.jar, then reopen DCT.nsf (more inside)
There is a time stamp issue with this file. Most likely you’ll see a time stamp of 11/06/2008 1:02 PM. Removing this file will allow the one in the DCT.ntf to deploy (it has a time stamp of 11/06/2008 2:02 PM - I’m looking into this discrepancy)
Once the new file is deployed, DCT will work as usual. I will re-post when I have figured out the root cause.
