DBlookup

We are testing Notes 8 and receive new error message. The error msg is intermittent. I saw one post but It gave not cause/solution. Any insight on this would be appreciated.

FIELD ERROR: [fieldname]: DBD cannot get a list of address books for the local server

Where [fieldname] is the name of the field where the error occurred.

Subject: dblookup

Well actually it is just a regular dblookup formula. It is happening in several different dbs for us. The same dbs don’t have this problem in our current version 6.5. This problem has surfaced in our testing for Notes 8. Again in several dbs. I’m just curious if this is a known problem with a solution or cause. I’ve noticed only one post. Any help would be appreciated.

Subject: It sounds like a client configuration issue…

…that’s preventing the client from retrieving the list of local address books. Maybe something odd about the location document? Lotus Support may have some ideas about this.

I know it doesn’t totally make sense that the local address book would be needed to do a lookup to a different database, but a lookup to the address book gets special handling for performance optimization, so the function wants to check whether the database you’re looking up into is an address book.

Incidentally, please don’t repeat your question, especially not on the same day.
