Db2

I followed the instruction here diligently for setting DB2

Setting up NSFDB2, Domino 8.0 using DB2 Enterprise Server 9.1 as the datastore

Reference #: 7010958

However, I encountered this error :-

06/29/2008 02:56:27 PM Warning: All Domino Domain Monitoring probes are disabled resulting in the loss of valuable diagnostic information. Please configure DDM probes in events4.nsf. Assess DDM reports in ddm.nsf.

I re-installed it again and again but the error re-appear again. Did I do something wrongly. Pls help.

This error can occur when the Domino server is started after configuring it for DB2 for the first time. This occurs because Domino is trying to create the DB2 database under the authority of the account that started the Domino server. It should be creating the database under the authority of the DB2 account specified when enabling the server for DB2. This has been reported to quality engineering via SPR: JRED76ALP9

Workarounds currently are:

  1. Add your OS account to the DB2 group that has SYSADM access to the DB2 server, and start Domino as an Application. This will create the DB2 database with the authority of your OS account.

  2. Set the parameter catalog_noauth to YES on the DB2 server. You can do so by typing this command at the DB2 CLP: update dbm cfg using CATALOG_NOAUTH YES

Please follow these steps:

  1. Shut down Domino

  2. Change the Domino service to disabled.

  3. Add your administrator account (whatever account you are currently logged into Windows as on the server) to your DB2DOM group (or whatever you called it).

  4. Launch the Domino Server, this should create the DB2 database without error.

  5. After Domino has completely loaded, shut down Domino.

  6. Change the Domino service to automatic.

  7. Launch Domino.
