DB2 in Lotus Notes

Hi all,

I would like information regarding using DB2 as database backend. I am getting sick of document-centric and would like to move to relational where I can get better query and aggerate functions, not going through views.

I am not sure anybody implement this and it is going in term of performance. Does the replication and save conflict occur when using DB2 ?

Thank a lot

Subject: What is your goal? What are the needs you wish to fulfill?

First, the question comes why are you “sick of document-centric” database storage? Is there an actual business requirement that pushes you to a more relational database approach? Are your administrators and/or developers more accustomed to relational databases? In many cases there are reasons for going to a DB2 back-end or integrating an existing set of DB2 databases with Domino. What types of issues are you seeing with the view-based navigation in your records stored as .nsf? It may be possible that these can be resolved and the applications improved in the existing format.

This is may provide some data on integrating db2 and domino.
