Hello everyone, one of our customers have a DB in their Domino Server 702FP3 that according to Domino Administrator has a size of 12GB but looking at the size of all documents contained in the DB they sum less than 100MB, we also did a local copy of the database and it’s size was bellow 160MB only, what can be happening, any idea? any help will be appreciated, thanks in advance.

The links look good.
The only other aspect is looking to see if there are actually missing documents. It should be obvious with the difference you describe.
Do you have other replicas / go to a backup and see how many documents are in the All view.
When a database becomes corrupt, a Fixup task is usually run. This will remove corrupt documents by default and could happen after a server crash. These can be replicated back into the database from another replica after clearing the replication history.
Also check your compact schedule / do you compact to reduce file sizes. This requires a compact switch.

Thanks for your answer, we looked at the documents refered in the other answer but our main concern is that the real size is way less than the size reported by the Domino Server, there are less than 80K documents using less than 100MB, the local copy of the database is less than 160MB, but the Server report this database as it really uses 18,000MB (18GB) the FT index is 180MB only, this is happening with a couple of databases in the same server.

Do you allow private views on the server?

Open log.nsf on the server and go to the Usage\By Size view. Locate the database, and open the document for it. This lists the views in the database and their sizes. What do you see?
