Day Light Saving Settings in the UK

We moved to Notes 6.0.3 in November 2003 from Notes 4.6

Since last Monday calendaring has been messed up for all users.

I initially asked all users to change their settings to not use GMT (as we had in 4.6)

But this does not seem to be correct

How do I make Daylight savings work in the UK?

I just need a definative answer that works for other people!

We are now going to use the operating system with daylight saving. Users will be manually resetting their calendars to the correct time

Make sure the operating system’s locale settings match real life on clients and servers.Set Notes and Domino to use the operating system’s settings where possible, and remove any TimeZone, DST, DST_Begin_Date, DST_End_Date or DSTLaw entries from NOTES.INI.

On operating systems where this does not work, use TimeZone, DST and DSTLaw entries in NOTES.INI to force Notes/Domino to match the operating system.

You can use the free tool here to check Note and Domino settings, but you must use it very carefully to be sure of identifying any problems.

Form what I have read, it seems R4 once had bugs that made turning off DST a lesser evil, but the bugs were fixed long ago.

Do you have DSTlaw= in Notes.ini? If so, you do not need it any more. ND6 uses DST settings from the host OS. If Windows, you need to ensure that the host OS is set to GMT (UK) and the daylight saving flag (automatically adjust clock for daylight saving changes) is turned on.

We use ND6 on iSeries (AS400) and we needed to ADD DSTLAW to restore our correct settings. For some reason on AS400 you need DSTLAW to take account of DST.

A search on DST or DSTLAW in this forum usually gives plenty of answers.
