Hi All,
I have a form1 which has which has Field A with multi-value datetime and form2 which has Field B combo box which pulls values from field A in form1.
For users working in US the list displays as 01/05/2007 & for users working in argentina it displays as 05/01/2007.
Any suggestions to display as universal format. Thanks in advance.
Subject: Datetime field type format
Hi
The way it is displayed depends on the OS regional settings.
Changing the display, which means to display something else than a datetime,
will prevent notes and domino to process them correctly…
Get a list of all the tasks using those datetimes, and them, analyze what side effects could occur.

A combo box is a TEXT field so your date-times are being converted based on the user’s regional settings. @text won’t help because this does the same thing (still no-one has worked out we need an arguement to specify the date format for that one!) You could try using a picklist based on a view to let them select the ‘dates’. You can format the view column now so that you specify the column date-time format and over-ride any local regional settings.

Hi Melissa
You are absolutely right, but :
considering the following :
The fact that a combo is text only should not create problems whenever the dates are translated client-side to another datetime field. (*)
I believe that she’ll have to separate the two things.
If not, separating the display and the use, something the way you explained, for example, may be a solution.
Further, the fact that some people doesn’t see the displaying of the dates the same way should not bother,
as long as the application is well-designed.
(*) in that case, according to the International property of the NotesSession, you could could transform the values with a formula…
I really hope that I’m not so foolish I may look, and that will help.
