Database target setting in outline entries overwritten when copying entries between databases

There seems to be a bug in the Outlines in Notes 6 when outline entries are copied between outlines in different databases.

When I set the outline entry to link to a named element (views), and set the database to - Current database - in an outline entry everything works ok. But then when I copy these outline entries to another database, the - Current database - setting in the outline entry has changed to the database where the entries were originally created.

Since i am using the COM classes to synchronize outlines between databases this is a big problem for me since the outlines are then always pointing to a database template of the master database, and someone has to go in and set the database target for each outline entry.

I tried to copy the entries manually and the linked database name is still changed so it is not only a problem when using the back end classes.

I guess it works switching the outline entry from named element link to a formula action, but then i do not get the neat selection focus on the outline.

btw. Doing this in Notes 5 seems to keep the correct database target when copying across databases.

There is an open problem report on this issue, just to confirm what you are seeing. Don’t know if this will help you, but if the outline itself is copied to a different database, rather than individual entries, the source in the new copy will still reference the ‘Current Database’.

thank gawd someone else is having this trouble, too. I was going nuts till i figured out that it had to be a Notes bug (using 6.01 CF).

has this been fixed in 6.02 (or whatever version is current, can’t figure it out as the download patches have been appearing and disappearing).
