Database size

When an user reaches their qouta we usually have them clean up their mail box, but the change doesn’t reflect immediately. Is there a fix for this? I’ve tried ‘tell adminp process all’ in the server console, but that doesn’t affect this.

You need to run a compact on the mail database to recover unused free space.

I’ve tried the load compact -B databasename.nsfbut I got “file does not exist” error. I also tried

“compact -B databasename” but that gave me the same.

Troy,

try load compact -B Mail\databasename.nsf

The client can also start a copmpact by clicking on the compact now button in the database poperties.

The only way I know of to have the change take effect immediately is to have an admin run the compact task on the mail databse.

load compact -B

I don’t think there is a way for a client to do this. We run this task automatically each night and, in general, tell clients to wait until the next day to see the change.
