Database Note Open Error

I’m cutting over to a new server over the past month and replicating the necessary system and user databases.

Occasionally the console and log fills with the following error:

Database Note Open Error. D:\notes\data\names.nsf: insufficient memory.

The server still receives mail but clients cannot connect using Lotus Notes or webmail.

The only solution is to restart Domino.

I looked up “note open” and I think it has something to do with replication but I’m not sure.

Has anyone seen this before or has any ideas?

Hi,

I have received the same issue today. Domino server 7.02. Server has 4GB memory. It is also part of a two server cluster.

Not sure what causes it, and yes it could be replication, it could also be so many other things. I hope that someone else has had this issue.

Short of restarting Domino, there is not much else to do.

I found something on ‘Shared Memory’:

ConstrainedSHM=1

ConstrainedSHMSizeMB=“size in megabytes”

I have not tried the above notes.ini settings, yet.
