HiWe have acquired a number of users from a different organisation. They have 150 Clients are currently running 4.6.7. They have 20 apps running on two R5 server clusters. Two servers in each cluster, the three major apps on one cluster, remaining apps on the other.
We have set up a single server with 6.5.1 to cope with the 100 notes users we currently have.
Notes mail is not used in either organisation.
We need to migrate the apps from the old organisation to ours, rebadge them all (logos and company name are all over the forms and navigators), change the user names from their old organisation to ours and update their client version not to mention getting all the icons on their desktops changed over and location documents changed.
At this stage it looks unlikely we’ll be getting any help from the other organisation beyond getting the files copied onto tape to move to our servers even though our users are still physically on their premises. Our server is set up to allow our users access to our server.
We are a single notes admin/developer site with possibility of one additional partially trained lotus resource and helpdesk staff and limited budget for additional software and external contractors. Training is likely to be limited and done in-house by the admin.
Do we tackle this as a single project or split it into smaller ones - like database migration, user renames, client upgrades?
Thanks in advance
Lisa
