Database Link To Home Server

Hello, hoping someone can help.

I have a general database located on a server called ABC containing documents describing other databases and their functions. Within these documents are links to the databases that are being described, the links are in the format of notes://ABC/00256966003732F1/ in which ABC is the home server and the rep id is for the database being described.

The problem is that this general database will be replicated to other servers but when the users on the other servers click on the above link, they will be taken to the database being described but on the server ABC and I would like them to be taken to the database that is being described on their home server instead.

Is there any way of making the link point to their home server instead of defaulting to ABC ?

Many thanks for any help, sorry for the garbled explanation !!

Matt

Couple of ideas. If the link is hard coded, you’re done. You need to make it computed for the server so each db has its own server in the string.

Why not just use the catalog? All dbs by name, by type, the ‘about’ doc tells you what it does and there are buttons to bookmark or open the db. Seems like everything a person could want all provided free of cost by the fine folks at IBM

Hi,

maybe you will find your answer here.

I know they say it’s R4-R5 related, but during our Notes 6.5 migration, we had the exact same problem,
