Database is a Template not updating, kinda

I have an R5 db (hasn’t been converted to 6 yet) that is sitting on an R6 server. When I go into the DB to change or remove the value of the Design Property for Database is a Template, when I get out of the db and go back to check it again, the value appears as though it has not changed. One strange thing is if I make a replica of the db and put it on an R5 server, the changes that I made on the R6 server are set on the new replica. Very strange. Also, not sure if this matters but just so the full picture is given, I am running W2K with Notes 5.0.11. I don’t have R6 installed anywhere locally on my machine. Lastly, there is another person in my group that has both 5.0.11 and R6 on his machine and using his 5.0.11 client, he is able to make the changes.

Any ideas?

Subject: I’m having the opposite happen

I’m have the opposite of this problem. I have a database that will not stay checkmarked for ‘Database is a template’ it’s on an R6 server, which I suspect is the problem. Have you ever found a solution to this?

Turns out it is an R6 Security Feature on the server. The property is called “Create Master Template”. Follow this link for more info:
