Database file size remain same

Hi,

I am facing a very strange problem with my 4.64 GB db.

I have archive almost 1.5 lakh of document to an NewArchive db. The file size of archive db has been increased but the main db’s file size showing the same. The Archive db size has been increased by almost 2 GB but no changes I can see with main db’s file system.

I have seen the number of documents has been decreased in main db and the transferred documents are no more exist in that db.

Do you have you have any idea what’s going on here and how can I fix it?

I am using “doc.Remove”. I have tried fixup, updall & compact but nothing is happing. Please help!!

Subject: Database file size remain same.

How much of the database size is in use (database properties, second tab)?

What parameters did you use for compact?

Are you sure, that the compacting is even finished yet?
