Database ACL rights

Have a database but cannot set the rights. Everything is greyed. I am using the Domino Administrator. Why would the options be unselectable?

Trying to set the rights to run an agent.

I am assuming that the Db is on a server, if not then it retains the ACL rights that were present when it was replicated. On the server you must have Manager rights to the database to be able to change the settings. I suspect that this could be the problem.

Changing the ACL’s of databases is a bit of a pain, so we developed Workflo!ACL Manager. Using this applicaton you can change the ACL on one or more databases without having to visit each one. For example add an Admin Group to the ACL of all mail DB on a server. This is a 5 -10 minute job with Workflo!ACL Manager. Plus a bunch more functionality. Download a demo from our site at:

You need to have Manager access to the database in order to change the ACL directly. If you are a full access administrator on a Domino 6 server, you will be able to manage the ACL without being a Manager at the database level.

Since I am running this on my own machine, how do I set those rights? I went Server - Security and added Jimmy Smith/Tangent to the Full Access administrators with no luck.

Subject: RE: Database ACL rights

Is this a local copy of database or a local replica ? If local replica, with R6, during replication, a copy of the namelist for the process which perform replication is bought down, so access to the database is limited to what the acl on the database and the namelist determine.

I would suggest you either copy the database to the server, use Full Access Administrator to fix the problem (i,.e. ACL) or create another local replica using your id.

Hope this helps.
