Just curious if there are any limits to sizes of CSV files that daosest.exe version 1.4 can handle. daosest created two CSV files from my largest servers which are about 250 megabytes each. Any idea how long it will take daosest to analyze these?

There are no memory limits to DAOSEST however it does need to load up the whole file into memory in order to analyze it. That being said, it can take a long time to analyze a large CSV file. Of course it will depend on the speed of the machine and the amount of RAM. I have seen a 350MB file take upwards of 5 days to analyze. The advantage of using a csv file is that the output can be analyzed on a different machine. So it does not need to tie up the server to analyze the output.

just analyzed a 55MB csv file: took less than 1 minute.
I guess POWER7 is showing its strength…
