Hi , We have used DAOS for one of the databases to test the size reduction( not a mail application, it is But when I checked the database properties I couldnt find any difference in database size, even the Nlo files are created in the server for the attachments. The size of the database shows the same as without DAOS. Do we need to compact the database to see the effect of size reduction?

Yes, From the console do a Load compact -c -daos on path to databaase
Subject: Use the Admin client
Use the Domino admin client to check the size differential. There will be 2 columns in the files tab to show you the “logical size” which is what you see in the db properties box and the physical size which is the post-DAOS size. The Admin client also shows you DAOS state, number of objects, and other DAOS related info.
Users will be shown the logical size, since that is what is used to calculate quotas.
