We have two 8.5.1 servers in which the main server is DAOS enabled, while other server (used for Blackberry) is not.
All the mailboxes are residing in the main server and hence the Blackberry server communicates with the main server and retrieves mails from there to push to the Blackberry devices.
After we enabled the DAOS, Blackberry users are unable to view the attachments on their devices. When they try to open the attachment, a web browser opens up with the error:
“The protocol specified is not supported by the handheld. Please try a different URL”.
Is there any way to overcome this issue? Thanks in advance.

There should be no difference in accessing the attachments. Please contact support.

DAOS is totally transparent to the reader of the note the attachment is on. So it does not matter if the note reader is Notes or BES or DWA. So I would tend to suspect its an issue w/the BES in how it converts the message for the device.
Does this problem happen for all attachment types or just some (eg: .GIF or TXT are ok but RARs do not open)?
What is the URL that is being opened?
Instead of trying to open the attachment from the body of the message, can you open it if you scroll up to the top where it says “1 attachment” and open it there?
