DAOS catalog categorically refuses to sync

I have to admit I am getting quite desperate as the catalog has not synced for almost 3 months now. I went thru the ultimate procedure (I thought so at least)

  1. Shut down the server

  2. nfixup -j -f -d on the entire server

  3. ndaosmgr resync force with all .ini daos debug options that I could find on Internet (and given by IBM support)

It takes about 8 hours with a clean console.log (just a few DB locks on daoscat.nsf) but the last 2 lines of the console.log indicates I am doomed:

06/26/2010 06:45:16 PM The DAOS catalog cannot be resynchronized. DAOS deletions will be postponed.

[1344:0002-0E9C] DAOSMGR: Resync FORCE completed

[1344:0002-0E9C] 06/26/2010 06:45:17 PM DAOSMGR: DAOS Manager shutdown complete

Also the 3 MB daos debug text file shows all DBS becoming “Detected” and then synchronized one after the other (in a very weird order by the way). No reference to a problem.

I have deleted daos.cfg, daoscat.nsf, pulled my hair, etc…

Subject: mail.box

Do you have DAOS enabled on mail.box? If so, disable daos on mail.box and try to resync again. Maybe this helps.

Subject: We have translog disabled for mailboxes

MailBoxDisableTXNLogging=1so DAOS is not enabled but thanks for answering the post.

Subject: Do you have the latest fixpack installed?

Do you have all fixpacks in place? There are some issues with DAOS that have been fixed by them.
