DAOS and database size

Hi All,

I am upgrading a server with a great number of large databases to version 8.5. Due to the size of the databases, there was one directory on the server created as directory link to another fysical drive on the server. Since enabling DAOS reduces the physical size of the database, the directory link is not required anymore and I wanted to move the data back to the default physical data directory.

Therefore, I shut down the server, renamed the ‘directoryXYZ.dir’ file to something else, created a new directory ‘directoryXYZ’ where I copied the contents of the old directory in. After the restart, everything worked fine again.

However, when I open the directoryXYZ folder with the admin client I now see in both columns the same values for logical and physical file sizes, both representing the physical file size. Database properties also show the physical size. Attatchments open as expected (that is, they open properly).

Is there a way to have Domino reload the logical file size in a way?

Thanks,

Marco

Subject: Found a workaround

I found a workaround for getting the right figures back: open the database in an ‘all documents’ view, scroll to any document halfway in the view and move the caret to any document in that part of the view. You will see the system working for a few seconds. After refreshing the files list in the admin client the right figures will show up in the column for logical file size.
